Dear Archie,
On behalf of the Salem Police Department we thank you for your generous donation of two Harley Davidson Police Motorcycles, plus uniforms and training for the officers assigned to the motorcycles.

We have tried for years to bring motorcycle patrol to Salem because of the benefits this type of activity offers the Town. You have made this possible. The motorcycles have already proven their value in the Vice President Candidate Sarah Palin's visit, the Christmas Parade, and many other events. The motorcycles have attracted many positive public relation contacts as well.

We thank you for your sense of community and support for the Salem Police Department. You have helped us to provide better service to the Salem community and for that we will always be grateful.

This agency has been through a great number of positive changes over the past several years and your donation has enabled us to take another big step in better serving our citizens.
